With a career in marketing under her belt, Annick Marchand was wrapping up her 15th year at the Québec Winter Carnival when she felt the call of a new project. Two months later, in 2013, a brand-new concept in pet stores opened on Maguire Avenue in Quebec City. It was an instant success. From the very start of this venture, Ms. Marchand was deeply driven by a belief: the mutual benefits that come from having a pet at home. Dogs, man’s best friends, contribute significantly to human mental and physical health. In 2017, the urban pet store Chien Mondain moved to larger premises at Place de la Cité. To offer an enhanced shopping experience, Chien Mondain—in collaboration with Cominar—set itself apart by adding a dog daycare, allowing customers to leave their canine companions for a few hours while they shop. A first in Quebec City!
Because she believes in the benefits of the bond between people and their pets, Ms. Marchand—who is committed to their comfort and safety—offers a new lifestyle for dog owners.
